7 Things To Do In El Paso If You Don’t Have Knee Pain

Get The Knee Guide

Hey, everyone!

I’m Dr. David Middaugh of El Paso Manual Physical Therapy.

I wanted to share with you guys the top seven things to do in El Paso this fall if you didn’t have knee pain.

Now, these things are compiled from our clients just when we’re talking to them.

They’re telling us what they’re up to, and just things going on around town and things that they’re interested in doing.

That’s how we generated this list, but they’re fun things.

I’m gonna get right into it.

They’re in no particular order, but here they are:

#1 – Get Lost In Corn Mazes

There’s a couple of corn mazes here in town.

One out on the west side. One on the east side.

They are fun for the whole family.

Stuff for small children to do. Stuff for teenagers to do.

Even for the adults, it’s a blast.

The maze is fun. It’s an adventure to find your way through and get to the end.

It’s always a little bit of teamwork, especially when you’re with a group.

It’s just a blast. Now, you will be standing and walking for probably a couple of hours, so just be prepared for that.

The ground is always a little bumpy. There might be some mud or dirt or grass. They’re usually farms.

#2 – Live Football

Now that the weather’s cooling off and it’s fall, football’s around.

Going out to football games is so much fun, whether it’s high school football or college football, if you support the Miners, UTEP.

I’m a Longhorn, but I used to teach at UTEP in the physical therapy department, so I support the Miners as well.

But it is a blast this time of year to get outside, get in the stadium and root for your favorite team or root for your kids playing football.

#3 – Go Hiking

The Franklin Mountains are beautiful this time of year, especially when it starts cooling down.

So if you love hiking, there are some great trails out there.

The views from anywhere on the mountain, especially if you’re at the top of the mountain, are phenomenal.

It is so nice to just get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and experience the quietness of the state park that we have right in the middle of our city in El Paso.

Just be sure to take water, stay hydrated, wear great shoes because it’s kinda rocky and slippery.

It is a mountain after all. You don’t want to fall to begin with, and much worse, fall on some cactus.

That would not be fun. There’s plenty of cacti out there, but it is a great time.

#4 – See Art in the Park

Art In The Park is an event put on by the city of El Paso, and it’s at Memorial Park in central El Paso.

It’s a great little event. They have activities for the whole family, stuff for small children to do.

There are food vendors. There’s art vendors, local artists, of course, and artists from surrounding areas.

If you’ve never been, it is great to just appreciate the talent that is here in town.

There’s a lot of neat artists that are local that live here in town.

#5 – Dress Up For Halloween

Halloween is right around the corner. It’s about three or four weeks away, and I personally love Halloween.

I love dressing up and my kids love Halloween.

My son wants to be Darth Vader this Halloween, and my daughter’s gonna be a princess.

I’m trying to get her to do a Star Wars character because I love Star Wars as well.

But she’s probably gonna do princess.

Maybe Princess Leia. Who knows?

But trick-or-treating with kids is so much fun.

Of course, it involves a lot of walking.

You want to plan out your route, make sure that you’re safe, put some glow sticks on your kids or something so you can identify them.

Also around this time of year comes the fall festivals, and we like those as well so much.

I have small kids, of course, and so we take the kids to the fall festivals so they get their candy fix for the year.

They have lots of candy after we attend all these events.

#6 – Visit New Mexico

This one is not in El Paso, but really close to it so I threw it in the list here.

A lot of my clients are talking about doing this.

They go up into the forest in southern New Mexico.

For those of you that didn’t realize this, there is a forest just within a couple of hours north of us here.

Towns of note to visit in southern New Mexico are Cloudcroft, Ruidoso, Truth or Consequences.

One of my clients, in particular, has told me about these hot springs near Truth or Consequences.

It’s part of the Rio Grande, the river, upstream. I’ve never visited. I can’t wait to check it out.

Maybe we’ll sneak away and get to the hot springs sometime soon.

That must be really cool to check out, especially with the cooler weather, enjoying the hot water.

#7 – Get Ahead On Christmas Shopping

I know. It gets earlier and earlier every year, but everybody’s talking about it already.

You want to plan ahead and make sure that you get all the gifts for all your loved ones, all your friends, and family.

Now the weather is cooler outside, it is a lot more tolerable to walk at, say, The Fountains or the outlets where you can be outdoors and just enjoy a day of shopping.

Go out and try on clothes, think of gifts you can get for friends and family, and maybe enjoy a meal at some of these places.

So guys, that rounds out the top seven list of things to do in El Paso this fall season if you didn’t have knee pain.

If there’s anything else you can think of that we should mention, comment below and put it on there. I personally want to know what’s going on.

BONUS

Something that I’m doing is a bonus one.

This weekend is the World’s Biggest Bounce House, basically a jumping balloon-type deal.

I have no idea what to expect.

I’ve seen some pictures online, and it looks like a lot of fun.

We got some tickets. We’re gonna take our kids out there this Saturday.

So anyways guys, I hope you enjoyed this.

Have a wonderful day.
