This is not a “no-pain no-gain” situation instead it’s a slow down, or stop completely situation. Pushing into and through pain is likely to cause more stiffness, achiness, and pain. A history of cartilage damage, chondromalacia patella, patellofemoral pain syndrome, knee bursitis, and knee tendonitis are some of the more common problems that people would best benefit from this program. All of these problems share a common root muscle imbalance that our program is designed to correct. Are there any exercises in the program I should avoid?

Always avoid anything that causes more pain. It’s okay to adjust an exercise first and see if you can make it easier by reducing the number of reps and sets. If none of those tweaks work, then it’s probably best to stop doing the exercise for now. You’ll likely be able to return to doing the exercise once you get stronger.
